3M3M Peltor Optime 95 Behind-the-Head Earmuff

I wanted a low profile ear muff. Sometimes I have to wear a helmet. Any ear muff that goes over the head can't work with a helmet. These work great behind the head. I wish they were a little bit thinner from the ear foam to the outside plastic round. Some helmets don't allow too much space. To hell with wearing those foam orange/green ear pills. These do a much better job.

These are great when you want to wear a hat or other headgear. The spring wire is very tight and they grip your head well. I use mine for airboating and when I cut the yard with a big straw hat.

Great hearing protection and very comfortable.

Purchased these mostly for mowing though I expect them to perform well for shooting sports as well. The comfort is not great. Over a 3 hour mowing session, my ears definitely hurt. I wear them with a hat, however, and I'm certain that influences comfort. In fulfilling their purpose of noise reduction, I'm satisfied with their performance, and I felt the price was quite good.

I chose these earmuffs because I have a large round head and wanted something that would fit me. These muffs fit great, the sliders make adjust-ability easy, and they aren't heavy. I use them in my garage when I'm using my angle grinder, drill, or rotary tool, and it cuts down the sound to a reasonable level, while eliminating the sharp impulse noises of the tools starting up. An other added benefit of these earmuffs is that I don't have to stock any ear plugs, I just have these hanging on a nail ready to go.

Used these for many years in an industrial warehouse. A good item also for home shop use, very comfortable especially when wearing headware.

I pair with a set of tan foamie earplugs and even with 130+ decibel booms going off right next to me these work splendidly. Don't let the small size fool you, these are great.

I bought it solely for the "Behind the Neck" neck band for when I wear a helmet or welding hood.It doesn't block much sound. It wasn't worth any money.I tried to use the "behind the neck" band on my other AM/FM radio and bluetooth muffs but it didn't work on them. It is not really compatible and not strong enough to keep them on my ears. I could not find the neck band only or a behind the neck version of the AM/FM ones.
