Q: where are these manufactured? Country of origin?

I'm not sure, but I believe China. However, I'm not recommending these due to I had two of the four show up warped and the lids do not fit on. I have not heard back from the company as of replacements yet.

Q: How do you get them apart? It's like they're glued.

Ugh same thing happened to me. I had to YouTube ideas. Put ice water halfway up the inside one, and then place the whole thing in a sink filled with the hottest water possible. After a few minutes you should be able to pull them apart. Ridiculous packaging!

Q: Is the top opening wide enough for a 1 cup measuring cup, so I can scoop directly from the container?

Yes. The opening is the same size as the container. It comes with a measuring cup for each container which is super handy!

Q: Will these hold intact boxes of cake and muffin mix?

Not sure but definitely holds 5 lb flour and sugar. They are square at the bottom thru the top. Just shy of 6” x 6”. Hopes this helps.
