This chess set is very classy and provides a nice center piece when placed on a coffee table or any other display area in a room. The chess board is crafted with intricate and detailed designs, and looks even better in person than in the pictures. The chess pieces themselves are unique and detailed, adding to the overall charm and feeling of quality in this set. They have a nice weight to them and feel like premium pieces when moving them around the board. The felt undersides make movement smooth and quiet on the lacquered wood. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.One caveat to mention that some other reviewers have pointed out: it seems this product does not always ship with the carry bag. This also happened to me. However, I reached out to the seller who was very courteous and professional. They sent the bag quickly, and I am very satisfied with the end result. Because of the product quality and my experience with the seller, I would recommend this set to anyone.

35 years ago i wanted to start a chess board collection because i love the unique boards you can purchase. I love the game, and having a board of this quality on a table somewhere in your home immediately advances you into the next tax bracket. I am very pleased with the real wood inlays, some pieces appear to be stone and the craftsmanship of the figurines are also better than expected. I do feel i could have the figurines sand blasted and polished up and the inlays could have been a little better if they removed more of the wood puddy. As a whole, and a craftsman myself i give it 5 🌟 for the money, if they spent another 10-15 hours on this board it would cost triple the asking price. Well done, im very happy!

Beyond expectations. The details on the chess board are intricately done. The wood shades are a true brown for the base, a darker different specie of wood for the dark squares and the light squares are another wood specie that’s a mid-toned tan. I’m not sure what types of wood but all the different types of wood make this board/storage box so beautiful. You can tell the squares are individually inset but it lays smoothly. It’s lacquered so it has a sheen versus having a bare wood look. The pieces are heavy, highly detailed metal, with felt bottoms and it’s easy to determine what the pieces are. The set came gift wrapped and packaged extremely well to avoid damage. It also arrived much earlier than expected. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase and highly recommend if you are looking for a gift set or a set to display.

I display this chess set in my man cave. It looks great and is very well made for the price I paid!

The chessboard/storage case is beautiful. The pieces are sturdy and made with quality in mind. With that being said, it did not come with the protective storage bag.

I purchased this chess set as an anniversary gift for my wonderful husband. It's beautiful! The pictures really don't do it justice. The inlays and the chess pieces are so well done. Very detailed and just perfect. It's really a work of art. I couldn't be happier.

No regrets. Also has an updated interior that is not plastic and very nice fitment. I would have added a photo but I don't want to move all the pieces to show. The set also has a bag to carry it in. It can be transported safely with supplied case.
