SET Mini Round Card Game

Not a full set of SET cards... none with shading, just color, number, and shape. They are smaller than I expected, but do take up less space. Lots of advertising in the tin, considering. A good intro to SET for kids probably. I think they'd be easier to shuffle if square or mini rectangles instead.

This SET game is not just smaller in size but a "light" version of the one I have played. Maybe the product description made this clear and I missed it. This version has fewer cards; the cards do not vary by pattern, only by color, number, and shape. So it will not provide the mental challenge that the original provides. I have been looking for activities to do with my father, whose cognitive abilities are declining, so this version might be perfect for him.It is quite portable (and cute!)So if what you want is the original game, you will be disappointed. But if this lighter game is what you want (or if you are new to SET and might want to work up to the harder version), then I think the purchase is worth it.

This mini version of the game does not have many cards and includes only the solid colored sets. There are no striped or unfilled sets. As a result it is much less interesting/challenging than the normal-sized game. The size of the cards, on the other hand, are exactly what I wanted. I have no issues with the cap (a couple of reviewers didn't seem to like how it pops off and on, but I do), and I like the metal tin because it can protect the cards when in my purse. I wanted a Set game that I could comfortably carry in my purse or coat pocket to have with me when hanging out with adult friends at a bar/restaurant/party. If it were only a larger deck with different pattern suits, I'd have given it all the stars. Given other reviews essentially saying the same thing, I think the company is missing an opportunity here. (If nothing else, they could sell versions of this mini pack with different patterned cards, so someone who wanted a full deck could collect all 3 to make one.)

This doesn't include one of the metrics to make sets from the original game so the smaller cards are also fewer in number and the game is not challenging at all. Not worth your money and definitely not for SET fans. Maybe now it's for 5 year olds?Gross adaptation; this becomes useless.Also the small size is comparable to a match box not a playing card box so I would anticipate it gets lost easily, too.
