Q: Are these available for 16 gauge ?

Not for sure. I used 18 gauge and 22 gauge they worked fine

Q: How do these work in the salt? Looking to wire up some lights on a trailer and the connections will be exposed to the elements.

As far as I know these connector are for low voltage lighting outdoor. Don't think they work on trailer.

Q: Can I use them for 12v audio cables on a boat?

I used on a chevy silverado 12v system. So I would say yes. But they are not water proof. You would have to seal it.
