Goldwell Topchic Hair Color, 9n Very Light Blonde, 2.03 Ounce

I had been bleaching my mother-in-law's hair/roots to get her to a neutral light blonde for years. This harsh process caused her scalp to blister and caused brackage and frizziness. We have also tried store bought hair dyes, other developers, bleach, and toners (like the t-18 Wella toner to get rid of brassiness). This brand of developer and color creme previded the best results with no damage. She has dark brown hair with 50% grey roots, especially around her face. I did a ratio of 1:1 of the Goldwell 20 developer and the N9 hair color, and added a little more developer for a higher lift. We left it on for about a total of 60 minutes (I am not very fast) and i put a bag on her head. I started in the back and worked my way to the front, to give the back the most development time. Her roots turned out a medium nuetral/slightly carmel blonde color that blendes nicely into her very light blonde tips. It looks like the roots of what a natural blonde may have. Which works great with her light, warm skin tone. It covered the grey well, and made the grey an ultra light blonde instead of stark white (which happens with bleach on grey roots), where it is heavily grey. Also, it made her hair shiny and soft to the touch. This developer/color did not irritate her sinistive skin. We have found an alternative to bleach. It doesn't lift as much as the bleach, but in my oppinion this color looks very natural and more desirable. We will be buying again for touch ups/lightening and for roots as her hair grows out. She loves the way it has turned out! Excellent product. It's a lucky find, as someone who has done a lot of at home hair, I now will only buy this brand.
