As all oboe players know, every reed is different. Even in the package all of these reeds were a bit different from each other. I purchases these reeds as I was learning to play for the first time. Everywhere I looked it said that oboe players should make their own reeds but I didn't want to take on multiple projects from the beginning. When I received these reeds they seems well made. They appears to be made with good quality materials. It did take a bit to figure out that I needed to adjust them slightly in order to play more efficiently but my teacher noticed that. All in all I would say these are great for someone starting out or someone who just wants to play the instrument without the additional chore of making your own reed.

We waited anxiously for my daughter's first set of reeds for her oboe - she had won 1 of 4 spots with beginning band...unopened, she brought them into class to show her band director and learn how to soak them properly before setting them in the instrument, only to have him point out to her that all but 1 of the 5 in the set were cracked! I will go to our local music shop and gladly spend twice the money if it means dependable quality!

They arrive from China. My daughter says they are too difficult to use to play her Oboe. Completely disappointed.

All Reeds broke in two weeks. These reeds are hard to play at and not shaved right either. Not good for beginner kids.
