Great pump for the price.
Excellent pump.Leaks should not be a problem as long as the fittings are covered in pipe dope and pipe tape, and tightened properly.Nice cast iron housing that provides both weight and durability to the pump.Installation depends on the amount of room available and size of installer. The pump does offer a 240VAC and 120VAC option that is selectable (240VAC was default on my purchase, but suggested to check before installation).Wiring was simple ... match up both VAC lines, then connect earth ground. That said, I did bypass the pressure switch and used an external pressure gauge. The reason is because having an internal pressure gauge causes the motor to repeatedly turn on and off within a single pressurization of the water due to the gauge being too close to the vibrating motor and the dial bouncing around continuously. I did not deduct any stars for this because all motors with internal pressure gauges, in this price range, have this problem.Overall, this is a great product as I have been using this for almost a year without a single issue so far.

Today we insalled it.
Our 1 hp well pump went belly up.& For the Price this appeared to be the best bang per buck. The pump is 1/2 hp and the install wen surprisingly easy. Having the ejector in the package is a plus. there is not pressure gauge nor is a foot valve in the package you need to buy those and have then ready. So far it seem to be working great. I will update this review in a month.

great pump
The 3/4" line runs 50' in lake then 25'uphill and into cottage. TIPS: Throw away the rubber gasket that came with pump, and just use a tube of "gasket maker" on each piece to be connected on front of pump, wait two minutes before assembly, then tighten the two bolts. SECOND , in order to prime the pump, the 1 1/4" plug in top of pump is where you must pour water in to prime it. You must install a check valve a short way from the pump. The small hole is on top of pump is an air bleeder. You CAN NOT PRIME PUMP USING SMALL HOLE. At the bottom of the hill, I cut the 3/4" pex line and added a tee, and a gate valve with a female hose adapter. By connecting a hose I was able to fill the entire line with water before priming the pump. I ran a dedicated 110 volt line from panel box. The pump should be on its own 20 amp breaker. It runs fine on 110, but it would be better to run a 240. Last thing, the pump is wired for 110, but if you use 110 there is a little switch you move to 110, it comes set for 220. The cut in pressure is 20lbs, cut out pressure is 40, so the air tank needs to be pumped up to 18lbs. The pump works fine, great value for the money. I also purchased a separate kit with pressure gauge, relief valve and tee for connections to pressure tank. I made the job easy. I started by using 8 large cinder blocks stacked 4 wide and two high for a platform. Five stars for the pump!!!!

Useless. Max pressure 15-20 pounds from ground level. Pressure switch is unusable. Returning
1. The most pressure I could get out of the pump (while holding the switch contacts closed) was 15-20 psi pumping from a water tank at ground level. 2. The attached pressure switch is useless, it does nothing but cycle on/off/on/off rapidly. No amount of adjusting it would bring it back to normal behavior. I think part of the problem is the plastic tube which goes from the switch base over to the pump casing was installed completely kinked, so pressure temporarily passes through it then it folds back on itself. Also the switch base is proprietary with the hose nipple built in, you can't buy a standard switch to put on it without re-doing the link hose and adaptors. 3. The switch wasn't even close to being adjusted into a 30/50 pressure switching behavior. 4. As other reviews have stated, the thin rubber gasket used under the shallow well adapter nose is very difficult to get to stay in place and seal well. I managed it the 2nd time around because I was careful and took great efforts. Returning.

Great Pump and Price!
I purchased this 1hp shallow well pump to serve as a utility pump on my dock at a lake house. We use it for general purpose use such dock cleaning and for watering the lawn, shrubs, and plants. The pump is well built: metal - not plastic like the pump it replaced. It has thick strong protective paint, compact design and quiet. Standard threads and piping sizes for the intake and outflow - so installation was easy. An impressive volume of water delivered all the way up to the top of our lot - the street side being a 45 step climb from the dock. I had a couple of questions about the pump and their customer service responded quickly. It's also reasonably priced compared to other 1Hp pumps sold!
