Great question! I didn't even think of this myself, so your query sent me searching. I found the following entry from "EatByDate." Here's an excerpt: "Dry spices are best stored in their original containers in a cool dark area like a pantry where they will remain dry, away from sources of heat. Cinnamon does degrade over time and degrades faster depending on the surface area - thus whole sticks last much longer than ground. Q: How long are the sticks and are they hollow in the middle? can they be used as straws?

The cinnamon sticks are approx. 3" long. They are curled on either side toward the middle. Yes they are hollow but not a continuous circle so unsuitable as straws.

Q: Do these have a harvested date on them to know how fresh they are?

Mine has "Mfg Date 09/28/2017, and Best Used by 09/28/2019" on the lower right corner of the back label. I assume the manufacturer date means when it was rolled into sticks and put into bags. I don't see a "harvest" date.
