How good does it clean eyeglasses?

Specific glasses, yes. You can definitely clean METAL frames in this as long as they do not have scratches, chips, peeling. However, do not clean plastic frames in an ultrasonic cleaner, and it is NEVER recommended to put any lenses into an ultrasonic cleaner because of the coatings and the raw materiel on the edges of the lenses. Any sort of scratches and coatings will be penetrated by the vibration (and cleaner chemicals if you use them) and almost always made worse. Anti-reflectant coatings will be harmed. I always remove lenses before cleaning frames - and I only put metal frames in my ultrasonic. (I run an optical lab)

how is it on dentures is it safe

The instructions say that it works on dentures, braces, etc.

Can you operate it with the top open for oversize items?

Yes you can remove the cover while operating the unit.

Do I use the same ultrasonic cleaning solution for all items, including cosmetic brushes?

You can mainly use water and a small amount on liquid soap to clean most items but you may need other cleaning solutions for items that needs deeper cleaning.
