Powerful. Quality.
Excellent drill in carry case. Strong powerful. Goes through brick and concrete like a knife through butter. Does the job quickly, no messing. Definitely a value for money purchase. Although is slightly heavy.

Excellent drill and very good value for money
Note: There appears to be a discrepancy with the Amazon description of this product. After some less-than-great experience with a keyless chuck on my old Black & Decker i decide to order the keyed chuck version of this drill; however, I received the keyless chuck version - checking part numbers that seems to be correct so I think this Amazon page is misleading. That said I decided to keep this drill, as the keyless chuck on this DeWalt drill seems much better designed. The drill itself is surprisingly light and actually fairly small; it's very easy to handle. It comes complete with a storage case, detachable side handle and drill-depth stop. The case is hard and durable but there isn't much room inside it for anything more than the drill.Despite its small size and light weight this drill is phenomenal; the variable speed trigger is smooth and ramps up the speed steadily allowing good control, the switch to hammer-action is sure and the hammer-action is excellent - blitzing its way through masonry. So, that keyless chuck thing: my old Black & Decker recently bust into flames, after a very long, partly illustrious, partly irritating career and the thing I hated most about it was the keyless chuck which had serious slippage problems and often led to blisters trying to tighten it enough to hold, not to mention a habit of locking, preventing bit removal. Anyway the keyless chuck on this DeWalt drill feels much better: it clicks when the chuck takes the first bite then you just turn it for another four clicks to give a very sure grip on the drill bit, the reverse operation is similarly sure with a reassuring click as it loosens its grip. Additionally, the chuck is quite big and chunky. Finally, this drill is fairly quiet in operation.Excellent drill and very good value for money

An absolute beauty..
Update: Nearly 4 years in, a lot of heavy DIY jobs done, and this drill runs like day one.Very pleased.- - - - -Excellent design, materials, and fabrication.Although quite substantial, the weight is significantly lower than my previous Tacklife 850W drill. It is also remarkably compact, being easily a third smaller by volume.- Regular and hammer-drill action.- Excellent variable-speed trigger, with reliable slow start, and smooth acceleration.- Recessed trigger-lock.- Surprisingly quiet for such a powerful (701W) drill.- Extremely sturdy, and well finished.- A really nice case, made from hard-wearing plastic, much like a hard rubber, so it won't chip or split.- An extra handle, that fits more easily than others I have tried.- Cleverly, the handle also functions as a depth gauge; the supplied rod tightens with the handle.- The chuck-key has a longer lever than most, and so is more comfortable when tightening hard.- Where the handle meets the cable, there is the usual chuck-key holder.- A (detachable) rubber loop on the cable can hold the chuck-key, allowing use without removal.- The cable is unusually long (4m), and still fits nicely into the case.Note: I should say that although this drill is rated as having a lower maximum (701W) than my previous drill (850W), but I have not noticed any reduction in delivered power. Perhaps the motor on this drill is simply more efficient.Note: The trigger does not have the familiar speed-locking screw that limits the top-speed. I have, however, so far found this unnecessary, as the control provided by the trigger on this drill is so accurate and well-graded.- - -I must emphasise that all of the elements (drill body, chuck, handle, depth-gauge rod, cable, plug, and case) are unusually well finished. The case especially was a surprise. Even though injection-moulded, the case fits together properly, and mine was almost entirely without rough edges or excess plastic.** Though pricey, I recommend spending the extra, since this drill is simply in a different league to the c.£50 alternatives. **- - -Bought at £75.00 with free Prime delivery.Item was delivered on-time, as-described, and suitably packaged.

So far so good
Had it a few months now. It hasn't struggled with any household DIY tasks. Makes easy work of materials you would expect it to, luke wood, plastic and light metals. So far, I haven't tried it on brick (which was what killed my previous Bosch drill) or thicker, denser metals. The case is remarkably small, which is great for storage but a little bit more of a faff when it comes to tucking the wire and handle away neatly. My last drill was keyless chuck, and that was what eventually gave way (seized up whilst drilling into brickwork and won't release the drill bit) so I opted for this version with key and chuck.I will update the review if any problems occur, but so far a solid piece of kit for the amateur.
