This reel is smooth and feels solid.
The media could not be loaded. I bought the 4000xa first. This 3000 is the second one I pair up with Shimano grappler bb type lj for bay jigging.I am talking about Shimano ultegra or daiwa saltist type of smooth which priced at about 160 bucks. The smoothness is your best friend when you jigging. It will not generate vibration so you can feel everything through top of the rod with braid line.I also purchased a Helios 4000ha but it is very disappointing because the ceymar hd is waayyyy better that Helios!Buy this you won't regret. If you run into a bad one, which I did, just return it and exchange for a new one.

This is the second okuma spinning reel I have purchased
Im totally impressed with this reel!!! The first okuma I tried was an inspira ISX couldn't stand it, then I got a ITX carbon loved it and this one I love screw and handle makes all the difference compared to the standard ceymar, great job Okuma keep up the good work I look forward to trying more of your reels!!!

Nice Reel Missing Spacers
Nice reel. I had a line lay issue and no spool spacers came with reel. The reel did not start up as smoothly as the older Ceymar C-40 with the same 7+1 bearing count. That may be due to the larger gear, I'm not sure. The HD 4000XA holds more line and retrieves 9in more line per turn than the C-40. I like some of the new features of the Ceymar HD and think it's a great product, however for the price I chose a different reel.

Outstanding reel!
Great reel, super smooth, great casting and line lay, no wind knots yet with 10 lb original Stren mono.Reel is just a little smaller than Shimano size 3000. Keep that in mind when ordering.

Heavy, slow priced too high
Just get the standard ceymar, you'll thank me. Save some cash the og is better and cheaper.

Poor value compared to $100 all metal reels, plastic parts let it down
Seemed like a decent reel for the price, but is pretty poor value considering you can get some very high quality metal body reels at the $100 price point, like the Daiwa BG. This reel flexed a ton in the reel foot and body, leading to the gears binding up when reeling in 2-4oz bait rigs in the surf. Not great. Returned and went to a BG, which is light years ahead for another $20

Faulty design or I just received a dud reel. Do Not Buy this Reel
Fishing line would catch on the line keeper next to the spool when reeling in. This would cause issues when recasting and causes snapped lures resulting in loss. Emailed customer service over a week ago and they are not responsive. I do not recommend buying this reel.
