Just works and is affordable!
I hooked this up to a 1976 Panasonic 9” black and white TV with some adapters and tested with The Sandlot DVD. It played the whole movie without issue. Apparently closed caption is turned on by default so be sure to turn that off. Really can’t complain being that is just works and so does the remote.

Easy to use!
Very sleek and easy to set up. I’m able to use the HDMI cable to play DVDs. Includes a warranty which is great. You need 2 AAA batteries for the remote.

Feels cheaply made but WORKS PERFECTLY
Works as it should, very quiet unit. Not giving 5 stars because it simply feels soooo cheaply constructed. Weighs like a couple ounces, used super duper thin lightweight plastic....as if plastic is hard to find or is rare. Makes no sense why such thin plastic...pretty sure it won't last long if not handled with care.

It's OK.
I purchased this to use with a laptop and TVs. My fault, it doesn't actually claim that it works on laptops and doesn't, but be aware. No stars marked off for my stupidity.Pros: Size is great if you have little spaceUsing HDMI cord, picture is Good. Not 4K "great" so if you are particular about this, this is not for you. If you are old school and good with something that looks like the TVs show you watched in the past (think Gilligan's Island or Buffy the Vampire Slayer) without the drop outs, but still with the slightly grainy quality, it's good and accurate to the quality of the DVD. Newer DVDs are also of appropriate quality.I accidentally turned it sideways. Kept playing, no issues.Remembers where you stopped.Easy setup for HDMI.Plays discs I have with some heavy duties scrapes on them (purchased second hand). This is the ONLY DVD player that will play those discs. That alone makes it a keeper for me.Cons:Cannot find a way to adjust the picture size properly on the dvd player. It has Normal ps, Normal LB and 16:9. How about 4:3 for those really old DVDs in CRT size? The two "NORMAL" sizes don't fix the image. My non mini DVD players will fix that. Yes, I often have to adjust the size on the TV, too, but I can't make the picture size work with 2 of 4 TVs. My non mini DVD players work with all of them.Player makes a"ticking" sound as it plays. If you have sensitive hearing, it will drive you insane.Remote is "slow". You press the button and it waits a beat before anything happens. At least mine does that.Bottom line: Good enough for average dvd play if you aren't picky about perfect pictures and don't mind or can place it where the ticking sound won't bother you. Standard small DVD players which aren't that much bigger these days are better (my non mini is only 3 inches wider and two inches deeper). That is plays DVDs with scrapes that other DVD players won't means I will keep it, but if it hadn't done that I would have returned it. It's just OK, IMO.

Use only the included USB power adaptor!
I ordered one of these 4 days ago. Hooked it up in my camp trailer and it refused to load/play a DVD. I returned it and ordered another, hooked it up, same issue-- would not load or play a DVD. So, third times the charm, right? Ordered a 3rd unit, thinking "no way I can get 3 bad players in a row!" Welp, the 3rd one had the same issue. This forced me to reeeeealy think about why they aren't working. What am I doing wrong? Long story short, this is what I discovered.... I was plugging the unit into the USB port built into our camp trailer. Apparently, this port provided enough power to turn the DVD player on, but not enough power to operate the laser in the player. Once I hooked it up using the little USB power adaptor provided with the player and plugged that into the A/C wall outlet, the player worked just fine. So the moral of the story, use the supplied USB power adaptor and do not rely on just "any" USB power source as the laser in the unit is very picky. Nowhere in the instructions or in the troubleshooting is this covered, so I docked it one star for that. They should revise the included instructions to say "must use the included USB power adaptor", which is important to know considering most households in America these days have USB plugs and chargers all over the place.
