Japanese Damascus Nakiri Knife 7 inch, Asian Japan Sharp Kitchen Vegetable Cleaver Professional 67 Layer VG-10 Damascus Steel Knife, Wooden Handle

This has ended up being one of my favorite knives. My go to for cutting veggies with good weight (not a light knife) and balance for pivoting on the tip and chopping carrots, potatoes, celery, etc. I clean after each use and it still looksa great hanging on my magnet bar months later.

Love this knife so far. Sweet potatoes cut like butter.

As you can see from my photo, the damascus pattern is almost imperceptible. It does not resemble the photos in the description. It is sharp when you first use it so I decided to keep it. I should have known it wouldn’t be as advertised as the company throws around the words Japan and Japanese with abandon, for a product obviously made in China..

The knife i have contains the damascus pattern that looks like stainless steel sandwitched together. That said, it doesnt have that distinctive zebra or contrasting look as advertized. However, it is functionally sharp as expected & holds its sharpness as i haven't honed it even after 2 weeks of heavy use. Overall, i'm satisfied with this purchase.
