well made of the price
had to order this from the USA as you cant get them off ebay or amazon.uk or find them on the netas they are cheap and if you drop them from up a ladder you have only lost a few pounds i use this to set up motorized dishes as it has a a red pointer round the outside this can be set to the declination angle and use the angle finder for the azimuth/polar mount angles it is easy to read but WARNING you must make sure the RED pointer does not rub on the plastic inside the angle finder as this makes it hard to get a true reading as the pointer drags across the clear reading scale makes the red pointer jurk and not move smoothi did buy a johnsons angle locator at the same time (yellow) this has a lot smoother movement and better magnetso i give the Empire 7-10the johnson 9-10the moagon level 10-10 but they dont make them anymore and the cost a bomb as well $50 £30 ish ten years ago

The manufacture needs to address an easy fix!!!
This is a great magnetic protractor with a few design flaws.#1 Is the worse design flaw. The magnet fell off the bottom while I was filming a review of the product. The double stick tape used to attach the magnet did not hold very well.#2 The Magnets could be a little stronger. One little bump will easily make this fall if it's mounted to the side of something. This is how my magnet fell off. I bumped it with my finger tips and it fell and the magnet popped right off.#3 Is a suggestion. Personally I'd like to get rid of the adjustable marker and move the degree indicators farther out so that you can read them better. They are readable but being closer toward the center makes it header to read when you're trying to get exact numbers. With all that being said. I think #1 is the only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating. Outside of the double stick tape issue this is very well built and reads accurate. The pendulum doesn't rock back and forth for along time either. It takes a split second to get to the mark and stay there. Other lost cost protractors like this tend to swing back and forth for a long time. It's a good way to waste time when you're on a role.Due to the cost I won't be returning it. It's not worth my time or effort. It would be nice though if they fixed the magnet issue though and sent me out another one...

Great Angle finder
This is the perfect tool to use when you're building a hot rod. Makes it easy to get all the angles the same when building the running gear. Use it all the time. Thank You!!!

Quite handy.
The Empire Level 36 Magnetic Polycast Protractor has been of great use to me as a Maintenance Tech. Let me first say it isn't a precision instrument but I often need to know the angles of stair railings, or the pitch of a lawn mower blade in order to get it close to factory spec and this thing does the trick. Very handy & versatile tool for all kinds of angles/pitches.It is plastic! This is not to be thrown around or stuffed into a tool bag but considering the price verses allot of the ones I've seen in the "box stores" it works for me.

Cheap junk
Magnetic strips are not strong enough too hold the angle finder upside down.
